Police Operation Saturday 17th January

Last weekend officers from the Metropolitan Special Constabulary (MSC), along with officers from Local Safer Neighbourhood Teams and a host of partners conducted an operation in Walthamstow Town Centre and along Hoe Street, initially focussing on the illegal use of E-Bikes and anti-social drivers but encompassing Robbery, ASB and VAWG (violence against women and girls). The majority of delivery drivers in our borough are law-abiding but joint patrols like this one help ensure that delivery activity in the borough is safe, responsible and respectful for residents and businesses.

A total of 18 Vehicles Seized.

Officers engaged with members of the public throughout the operation, explaining the objectives and educating individuals on the risks of illegally modified e-bikes and e-scooters.

Members of the public also provided intelligence regarding businesses believed to be accommodating or enabling their behaviour which is being developed for future Crime operations.

Lots of positive feedback from residents and businesses alike referencing the pro active approach we are taking in making the Town Centre safe for all.
